What I’m All About:

I am a content creator—I make videos primarily for Youtube, with other platforms under consideration for expansion. My goal is to bridge the gap that still exists between the futuristic technology of modern electric vehicles, and traditional outdoors adventures such as backpacking and backcountry camping. The two camps—those who are interested in electric vehicles, and those who are interested in outdoors adventuring—do not have nearly as much crossover as they should. I want to unite these two sides of the coin, and show that electric vehicles make great adventure vehicles with many benefits and unique advantages.

I do this via the following avenues:

  • Going on adventures with these vehicles and showcasing these experiences first-hand

  • Evaluating upgrades, equipment, and processes relating to these adventures

  • Discussing lessons learned, what went wrong or right on prior adventures, and analyzing upcoming vehicles for potential use as adventure vehicles

As someone who began with a more traditional backcountry camping & backpacking background, I bring a unique perspective to the positive outlook on electric vehicles in an adventuring context.

With over 11,000 subscribers, over 1,000 daily views, and constantly innovating; I am an up-and-coming content creator who aims to make a permanent & widespread mark in my niche.

So far, my content really seems to resonate with men around my age, with one third of my audience being between 25 to 35 years old. Studying my metrics shows me that the vast majority of my viewers originate on the EV side of the coin, so my content is focused on the vehicles themselves as they relate to outdoors activities.

It all started when I bought my first electric skateboard, and thought to myself: “I wonder if I could go backpacking on that.”

Since then, I’ve decided to make it my mission to investigate and showcase electric vehicles being used for outdoors adventures.

My three primary goals:

  1. To prove that EVs are capable adventure vehicles

  2. To innovate new ways to adventure with electric vehicles

  3. To inspire others to go on their own EV adventures

Overlanding with electric pickup trucks & EV camper vans. Backpacking on electric skateboards & raftpacking on an electric raft. Building new & novel electric adventuring vehicles, like an electric snowboard and an electric dirtsurfer.

These are just a few examples of how I am showing the adventurers of the world that they don’t have to be scared of EVs. Electric vehicles—both big and small—are here to stay. I will show you what they are truly capable of by pushing them to their limits.

My name is Mike, and I go on unconventional EV adventures.

As part of my mission to constantly innovate and come up with new ways to explore the world with portable electric vehicles, I have accomplished few world firsts, that have never been done before.

The following are things that I am the first person in the world to accomplish:

  1. First inexpensive DIY electric snowboard build
Where most electric snowboard builds are expensive and highly complex; mine was developed to be extremely inexpensive using 3D printed parts and off the shelf components

  2. First backpacking trip done on an electric dirtsurfer
Electric conversions of dirtsurfers/inline boards are nothing new; but I am the first person to ever go on an overnight backpacking trip on one

  3. First electric skateboard to use Sodium Ion batteries
With Sodium Ion batteries just starting to become commercially available, I am the first person to build and test an electric skateboard powered by this novel battery chemistry
