Tray/Jig For 32140 Battery Cells, 12x, For DIY Battery Packs (3D Printed)

$20.00

Description:

A set of two (top & bottom) battery jig/holder plates for building custom 32140 cell (sometimes labelled as 33140) battery packs. Commonly used for Sodium Ion and LFP cells. Printed in completely solid PETG for robustness, durability, and resilience to heat.

Cells are placed 4x3 for a total of 12 cells, for the following potential configurations:

  • 12S1P

  • 6S2P

  • 4S3P

  • 3S4P

  • 2S6P

  • 1S12P

There is a 2mm gap between all cells to allow for airflow if you are building with air cooling in mind. See the ‘Dimensions’ section for total pack dimensions.

In the photos, you can see the custom 12S1P pack I built out of Hakadi Sodium Ion cells for an electric skateboard project. That pack wound up being a 37.2v 372wh pack.

To be clear, this listing is ONLY for the top & bottom battery holder jig. Batteries not included! Heh

I do custom work; if you need a jig for a different configuration (ie 6x2 instead of 4x3) or for a different cell size like 18650 or 21700, contact me through the Contact page at the top of this page.

Applications:
Custom DIY battery pack builds

Design:
This item is designed on a computer and then 3D-printed using a desktop 3D Printer.

Dimensions:

Fits 32140/33140 cells

Total dimensions with both plates and cells: 14.5cm (length) x 10.9cm (width) x 14.5cm (height)

Material:
3D printed in solid PETG

Tools & Installation:

  1. Firmly seat batteries, one at a time, as needed in bottom tray. Ensure they are flush with the support surface.

  2. Align top plate with positioned cells.

  3. Use a non electrically conductive mallot to gently tap top plate into place over open end of cells. Ensure all cells are flush with supporting surface.

  4. Use pure nickel strips to spot weld cells together, to minimize resistive heating and minimize damage to battery jig while in use.

Included:
- 2x 32140 Battery Cell 12x Pack Tray/Jig
